Inspired by Everyday Life

Each piece is crafted with intention, care, and a deep respect for the materials I work with. I believe that pottery is not just about function; it’s about creating something that resonates with people on a personal level. I focus on marrying form and function, ensuring that every item I create is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and durable.

Embracing imperfections as part of the beauty of the craft, and I strive to create pieces that tell a story, whether it’s through the textures, glazes, or shapes I choose.

My pottery is designed to hold the warmth of a homemade soup, inviting connection during lunch breaks. It’s created for morning conversations over a cup of coffee with a mug that hugs your hand just right.

Each piece serves a purpose while simultaneously celebrating the beauty found in simple acts, such as cooking, sipping, or sharing a meal. The colors and textures reflect seasonal changes and personal stories, transforming functional pieces into conversation starters. Whether it's a plate meant for a family dinner or a vase that holds wildflowers picked from the garden, each creation tells a story of intention and artistry, merging seamlessly into the fabric of everyday life.

The craftsmanship resonates with a deep appreciation for routine, making each piece not just an object, but a canvas for the experiences we share.

Owner Mel O'Berry’s journey into ceramics began in 2010, when she was pursuing a Hospitality degree in college. Eager to explore something she had always been curious about, she enrolled in a pottery class—and from the very first moment, she was hooked. The tactile connection she felt while shaping clay sparked a passion that would shape the rest of her life. Mel quickly became a student worker as a studio assistant, mixing glazes, helping fellow students, and dedicating herself to perfecting her craft by throwing on the wheel every day.

After a few years of honing her skills, Mel transitioned into a full-time Production Potter and Instructor at a local studio, where she had the privilege of learning from an incredibly talented mentor. Over the next three years, she not only grew her own pottery practice but also rooted herself deeply in the seaside community.

Though Mel took a brief hiatus from pottery to focus on her Wedding Photography business, she always felt the pull of the clay. After eight years away, she decided it was time to return to her true passion. She set up a home studio in Beaufort, NC, and has been steadily building her pottery business ever since.

Today, Mel continues to create pieces that are not only functional but also organic, comfortable, and timeless. Each piece embodies a celebration of simplicity and everyday life, reminding us of the beauty found in the most ordinary moments. Through her work, Mel strives to offer a connection to both the craft and the natural world, creating pieces that are meant to be cherished and used for years to come.

Welcome to my space! It’s truly an honor to create pieces that celebrate every day life for you. I am grateful for the connection, and support.

xoxo
